Usually, we have a week to look forward to an opponent. But since it’s bowl season, we have an entire month to prepare for the Oklahoma Sooners. After taking the past few days to gather our senses after the Pitt loss, we’re back and ready to go. Get ready for a big month of shit-talking/pointed banter towards our panhandle brethren to the West.

That banter begins today.  Yesterday, we began exchanging questions with ccmachine of Crimson and Cream Machine. Today, look forward to the first installment of our 372 part series recapping that conversation. So expect that…and much, much more. Or just more.

Yeah, so, it might be time to revisit my preseason prediction (insert link) for the basketball team. Why? Because the last two games have shown me that WVU is for real this year.

And when I say official, I mean official. I was invited to take part in the 73rd presentation of the Heisman trophy, presented by Nissan 1st annual mock-Heisman, presented by Mizzourah. I knew it would be a close ballot, though I thought the ultimate winner would be different. I still believe the actual winner on Saturday will be Tim Tebow, sophomore status be damned.

Honestly, I don’t know what to say. There’s no point in writing 4 paragraphs talking about the Pat McAfee death-threat situation. Obviously, it is wrong to threaten the life of anybody (outside of Oprah), especially a Mountaineer player. He didn’t even miss the game-winning kick. He missed two kicks very early in the game. Two kicks that, with our talent level, should have played absolutely ZERO roll in the outcome. He was a part of Saturday’s problem, sure, but let’s try not to go just a tad overboard and vandalize his house/car and threaten his life. Leave that kind of ridiculousness to Nebraska fans.

I have never felt this way after a WVU loss and I have seen a lot of them. I want to pull a Nancy Kerrigan and scream, “Why me, Why now, WHY!” I keep taking deep breaths hoping that empty feeling disappears, but it stays and even grows.

Rarely do I agree with anyone on Mountaineer football.  Lend Me Your Eers, however, has a pretty good post recapping the Pitt massacre.  Since I’m still not completely ready to talk in-depth about the game, I’ll let them speak for me.  Here’s a quick preview:

Rich Rodriguez’s biggest weakness as a coach is his inability, or unwillingness, to make adjustments during the game. If his plan works, and I admit it usually does, he is virtually unstoppable. But when his plan isn’t working (South Florida last season and this season, Pitt this season, etc.) changes are rarely made.  If Rodriguez is going to become a legend, and one of the best coaches in the country, he has to find a way to win games when things aren’t going well early.
